Members of a drug gang in Jiangjin District, Chongqing have been apprehended for drug manufacturing and dealing, local police announced on Wednesday.

Police said they have detained 5 suspects, with more than 13,822 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and one vehicle was seized.

The gang illegally purchased the drug in the southern province of Guangdong and then transported the drugs to Jiangjin, according to the police.

The gang leader, surnamed Zhu, was seized while transporting the drugs. The gang has sold more than 2,000 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine since it began operating in 2013.
