On the afternoon of 7 July, the 'Yangtze River' Paragliding Competition kicked off at Qianye Meadow in Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing, attracting a whole host of visitors.

Contestants were required to start from a meadow overlooking the river at an altitude of over 1,500 metres, fly over the Yangtze River and land in Zhongzhou Town, Zhongxian County; an overall flying distance of approximately 20 kilometres.
