CHONGQING (CQNEWS) The Administrative Committee of Liangjiang New Area announced on Tuesday that the area achieved a total import and export value of 147.9 billion yuan in the first half of the year, increasing by 83.7%, accounting for 55.3% of the city’s total import and export value.

According to the Chongqing Administration of Customs, in the first half of the year, Liangjiang New Area’s export and import values were reported at 79.35 billion and 68.55 billion yuan respectively. For June alone, the total value reached 26.69 billion yuan, increasing by 28.9% from the previous year.

It's worth mentioning that the import and export of the processing trade, private enterprises, foreign invested companies, and state-owned enterprises reached 99.69 billion, 79.55 billion, 44.53 billion and 13.25 billion yuan respectively, among which the value achieved by private enterprises accounted for 53.8% of the total.

As for trade partners, the growth rates of Liangjiang New Area’s trade volumes with Hongkong and ASEAN grew rapidly, with the import and export values totaled at 37.87 billion and 26.48 billion yuan respectively, both increasing fourfold. (Translated by Li Jiali, Fathom Language Limited)
