Chongqing (CQNEWS) Chongqing’s Yuzhong Association of Western Alumni has won praise from successful pianist Xiong Xiong of the Chongqing Opera House. The musician stated at the association’s recent ‘Dream Salon’ event that, through a newly constructed ‘Dream Platform’, members can now better promote and develop personal businesses, benefitting from mutual experience and relationships.

The association, set up to help postgraduates returning from European and American institutions to succeed at a local level in Chongqing, was established at the end of last year. It currently contains 39 members, including 8 PhD and 25 MA/MSc graduates with an average age of 33.7. More than half of the members have already successfully established personal businesses in the city.

"Yuzhong District is abundant in talents with the number of returning alumni increasing every year. We have held a number of gatherings in recent years, seeking to help new returning alumni to secure suitable jobs after graduation. From the association’s inception, we have held a number of themed 'salons classes’ to help strengthen member integration, utilize talent and increase creativity.” stated Dai Ling, a member of the Yuzhong District Standing Committee and director of Chongqing’s United Front Work Department. The association also strives to develop better communication between members by utilizing social networks including QQ and Wechat in an effort to enlarge the ‘Dream Platform’ for their members.
