GAZA, July 29 (Xinhua) -- New Israeli strikes carried out overnight on Tuesday have so far killed 13 more Palestinians after the artillery shelling on Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip, medics said.

Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qedra said that the 13 Palestinians, including a paramedic, were killed in intensive Israeli artillery shelling on residents' houses in Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip. He added that 40 people were also injured.

Witnesses said that the eastern area of Jabalia was intensively struck by dozens of tanks shells fired by Israeli ground forces stationed east of the town, causing many casualties.
