Tour of China is set to start on August 30, beginning in Xi'an in central China. It will finish on September 14 in the northern coastal city of Tianjin, and will consist of 13 stages, which will be completed in 16 days.

The route for the fourth edition of the tour is completely new and will travel across six provinces and municipalities — Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Tianjin.

Twenty-two professional cycling teams — including 11 from Europe, nine from Asia and two from America — will participate. Organizers have lofty goals for the event, and believe in the next decade it can develop into a top-level cycling event.
