A new version of the opera Princess Xinyi was recently staged at the Shi Guangnan Grand Theater, and it “brought the house down.” The opera has been in preparation for four years, and debuted in November of last year. It is one of the representatives of the 5th Chongqing Performance Season. The new version was performed by Xie Tian (Tenor from the Central Conservatory of Music) and Cui Jinghai (Mezzo-soprano from the China National Opera House). They were accompanied by an aria from Prince Palmiter and Xinyi Flower. It also includes a sample of Sichuan Opera percussion, and delivers an amazing auditory effect. (CQNEWS)
