CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- It is universally acknowledged that everyone gets older, and where to spend all that time for the elderly is something that we all care about. As one of the first projects of the “Qianbai Project” (Project of setting 1,000 Community Nursing Home Care Stations and 100 city-level model Nursing Home Care Centers), which aims to provide nursing home care in the communities of Chongqing, the Nursing Home Care Center at Shangqingsi Sub-district in Yuzhong District opened on August 1 and started to offer its service to the elderly. Let’s see what progress the “Qianbai Project” makes via the lives of its residents.

The Shangqingsi Community Nursing Home Care covers an area of 1,810 square meters and has 65 beds. Mainly providing 24-h service for the elderly who lives nearby, it has room for reading, dining and rehabilitation physical therapy. As of now, the center has 16 full-time and 2 day-time residents, the average age of whom is 80, and the eldest one is 95.

The super-sized glass window provides better lighting for the room. At the care center, services such as bath aides, physical rehabilitation, entertainment, food and drink, health consultation and home service are available. 

Picking up marbles, fastening buttons, tying a bow, pulling a zipper... These seemingly simple movements in the eyes of young people are not easy for the disabled elderly. The service center specially prepares the delicate exercise for all the elderly and carries out rehabilitation training on them regularly.
