“Doctor Bullet Train” in Chongqingxi Railway Station

2020-01-10 14:23:44

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When night falls, lights of Chongqingxi Bullet Train Maintenance Station, 10 kilometers away from Chongqingxi Railway Station are bright. Trains running across the country in daytime are stably parked in the workshop, waiting for the “doctor” to check their “body”. Just like the hospital departments, the maintenance staff of bullet train are divided into dispatching, quality inspection, on-site technology, cleaning and other types of work. Every night, nearly 200 “dotors” stick to their work here. With the arrival of Spring Festival travel rush, in order to deliver every passenger safely to the destination, “Doctor Bullet Train” need to handle heavier and complex maintenance work.

At 19:00, trains come back to the maintenance station one after another, “Come on, and wash your face first.” In order to make this “China Name Card” brighter, sweepers are cleaning the “head” of the train carefully. During the Spring Festival travel rush, the railway line will be busy, and the maintenance workload will be increased from an average of 19 groups to 24 groups every day, and 30 people will be on duty every night.

“There is no operation in Lane 2, so please go to Lane 2 as planned, and power off when pantograph lowering is in place...” Just after the voice fell, two motor train mechanics climbed onto the roof and carried out the pantograph inspection meticulously. The train will lose power without gasoline, and the pantograph installed on the top of the train is an important electrical equipment to obtain electric energy from the catenary, and is the “lifeline” of the train.

In the TDES Image Analysis Center of Chongqingxi Railway Station in Chongqing depot, more than 10 staff are staring at the image on the screen. This is the picture taken during the driving process of the bullet train. Before the maintenance, they need to pass through their “eyes”. It's a common practice for them to look at tens of thousands of pictures all day.
