TIRANA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- About 17 percent of Albanian children live in absolute poverty in families with incomes less than one U.S. dollar per day per capita, a UNICEF report said on Wednesday.

The report on "Child Poverty in Albania," presented UNICEF representative in Albania Detlef Palm, called for multi-fold assistance to eradicate child poverty in the country.

"Child poverty has several dimensions, where material welfare is only one of them. Child poverty includes many aspects and it takes more than economic assistance to tackle them," Palm said.

He added that identification of problem is very important, in order to address the resources to those in need.
