Angola to host 1st book fair of Portuguese-speaking bloc

LUANDA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Angola will host a week-long book fair of the Community of Portuguese Language Speaking Countries (CPLP), the first of its kind, in the capital city of Luanda, organizers announced here on Wednesday.

The fair on Nov. 22-30 was expected to bring together over 60 exhibitors and some 20 tons of local and foreign books from CPLP countries.

Earlier this week, Angolan Culture Minister Rosa Cruze Silva said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the executive secretariat of the CPLP, the Ministry of Finance and the National Department of Customs have contributed to the upcoming book fair.

Currently the CPLP groups Angola, Portugal, Mozambique, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Saint Tome and Principe and East Timor.
