The number of college graduates in Chongqing is estimated to increase by 12.3% over last year, according to the city’s employment bureau, a total of 100,000 jobs will be offered to them in the second half of 2014 to alleviate employment pressure.

At present there are reportedly five career paths for them, and the major one is going into enterprises, which recruited over 70% of the city’s graduates last year, according to statistics.

The remaining four are respectively sitting the examinations to become civil servants or enter public institutions; participating in volunteer projects and start-ups.

"The 100,000 jobs are planned to be provided through 100 job fairs that will be held in the remaining half of the year," said a responsible person of the bureau.
