Sweet Osmanthus Festival in Tongnan

The 2014 Chongqing Tonliang Sweet Osmanthus Festival is set to kick off on September 6th. Osmanthus is a sweet spice, native to Southwest China, and grows on small trees typically 3-12m tall.
Over 6,000 mu of sweet osmanthus trees have been planted at the West Sweet Osmanthus Park in South Tongliang, the largest of its kind in southwest China.
Themed events such as open-air films and a full moon gathering will also be held for the public during the festival. (CQNEWS)
