More than 80 imported vehicles, including brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen, were transported to the Chongqing Port of Vehicles in Tuanjiecun, Shapingba District by the Yuxin’ou train on 30th August, marking the official operation of the port.

The train traveled approximately 1,100 kilometers from Germany to Chongqing in a 16 day journey.

Chongqing has become only the fourth imported vehicle port in the country, following Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The city currently sells around 60,000 imported vehicles every year, with a third of them coming directly from Europe, according to the municipal government's port office. (CQNEWS) (Translated by Liu Kan)
