The continuous rainy days in Chongqing have benefited the growth of autumn vegetables planted throughout the city over the past few weeks. Statistics show vegetable prices in the main urban districts decreased by 20 percent over the last month.

Prices of Chongqing-planted vegetables, such as cucumbers and eggplant, dropped by over 2 yuan per half kilo.

“It is predicted that Chongqing vegetable prices will further decrease in September,” stated an insider from a local vegetable plantation industry. (CQNEWS) (Translated by Liu Kan)
