11•11: Chongqing obliterates record

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Tmall realized 35.019 billion yuan in sales revenue during the 11-11 Shopping Carnival in 2013; and Chongqing citizens contributed 770 million yuan, obliterating the record of 410 million yuan set in 2012. Female consumers made set the bar for purchasing, mainly purchasing clothing during the sales event, according to Alibaba on November 12th.

On the exact day of November 11th, Chongqing saw the transaction amount of women’s dresses reaching 1 million with the total sales revenue topping 100 million yuan, and undergarments followed with 610,000 pairs sold. Men’s clothing, snacks and children’s clothing ranked the 3rd, 4th and 5th.
