On 30 June, construction of the first phase of China Mobile (Chongqing Branch) Data Centre officially commenced in Shuitu Hi-tech Industrial Park, Liangjiang New Area.

Covering a total construction area of over 120,000 square metres, this data centre will have approximately 130,000 servers after the whole project is completed.

In 2010, Chongqing Municipal Government unveiled the 'Cloud Computing Programme' and worked out the construction planning of Liangjiang International Cloud Computing Industrial Park in Shuitu Hi-tech Industrial Park.
