More and more automatic robots have been put into service in Chongqing's industrial enterprises due to the city's fast-growing IT and auto industries in recent years. The gross output value of Chongqing's robot industry has exceeded 5 billion yuan thus far.

Statistics showed more than 5,000 industrial robots have been put into use throughout the city to date.

"Currently, there are over 60 companies and more than 20 research institutes engaged in robot R&D, design and manufacturing in Chongqing" said Wang Rui, secretary general of Chongqing Robot and Smart Equipment Industry Development Association.
