The total number of micro companies established in Chongqing has reached over 118,000, offering 888,000 jobs, according to recent news released by the local administration for industry and commerce on 16 July.

Statistics show that micro firms in Chongqing now occupy more than 30 percent of the city’s private companies.

"Most of the micro firm applicants are returned migrant workers, workers previously laid-off and college and university students," stated Nie Gang, director of the Micro Company Department under the Chongqing Administration for Industry and Commerce.
