CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Since the policy allowing families to have more than one child if one of the parents is an only child, the infant milk powder market has reacted accordingly. During November, around 10 foreign brands of milk powder marched into the market in Chongqing, according to local dealers on November 21st, 2013.

In November, Zhou Yan, the general manager of Chongqing Baby-Kids Infant & Mum Chain Store, attended the introduction and marketing events for 3 foreign milk powder brands, including Arla, an exclusive brand designed for the Danish royal house. Arla formally entered into the local market on November 20th.

Meanwhile, Master Kong and Wakodo (under Asahi Group) reached a strategic cooperation to found a joint-venture company for infant milk powder import and sales in Shanghai. Recently, the New Hope Group is also planning to enter into an agreement with Synlait from New Zealand for infant formula, which is expected to enter the market in early 2014.

Supported by policies, Tianyou Diary, a local brand declared recently that it will resume the production and sale of infant formula. (Translated by Chen Siyan, Fathom Language Limited)
